Now running for the third consecutive year the Cornwall Skills Show is the showpiece careers event, for secondary schools and colleges across the county.

The previous show focused on 8 key sector areas, incorporating 120 businesses and organisations across the county to inform more than 3,000 students of their exciting future employment opportunities in the county.

To engage and raise student awareness we will engage with more businesses to represent the sectors below:

  1. Space and Aerospace
  2. Marine, Energy and the Environment
  3. Hospitality and Tourism
  4. Food and Farming
  5. Creative and Digital
  6. Health, Care and Public Services
  7. Legal, Retail and Finance
  8. Construction, Manufacturing and Engineering

Maritime UK is represented by Cornwall Marine Network and Cornwall Marine Academy in the Marine, Energy and Environment Zone.

For the first time the Skills Show will also have a space for inspirational speakers to share information about their businesses, personal journeys and innovations occurring within their sector. A timetable of speakers will be shared prior to the event.

The feedback from last year was excellent, but this year we want to develop the event further by helping improve the preparation for students before the event.

To encourage all schools / colleges to attend this valuable event, Cornwall Council will be providing a £2 per student, transport bursary.
