Road to #NetZero

Maritime UK has been working to build political support for its Comprehensive Spending Review bid with a focus on proposed support for a £1 billion Government investment to kick-start maritime decarbonisation. 

The first steps towards realising this goal have recently been announced with the Prime Minister’s ’10 Point Plan for a Green Industrial Revolution’, which includes a focus on helping the maritime industry move towards net zero through innovation and new technology. The next phase in highlighting the importance of this agenda to the industry is to demonstrate how each of the Nations and Regions are contributing to this agenda and how accelerating progress toward decarbonisation can transform regional economies. 

So far, the Road to Net Zero series has focused on:

• December 2020 - South West of England (Chaired by Luke Pollard MP)
• March 2021 - North West of England (Chaired by Angela Eagle MP)

The next event will focus on the Solent region. Details will be shared shortly. Originally planned for 29 June, the event has been moved due to a clash with the UEFA European Football Championship.
