Cathy has 20+ years experience as a business leader working with CxO level in multinational organisations. Demonstrable expertise in global networks, corporate planning/strategy, communications, project management, business development, marketing, campaign and event development, problem solving and creating new revenue steams. Takes a strategic and analytical approach to challenges - but enjoys finding creative solutions. A skilled networker with interest in developing new connections and business opportunities. An entrepreneur and business owner who has founded and sold businesses internationally across the maritime and infrastructure domains. Operates in global markets with particular emphasis on technology, digitalisation and innovation in the maritime and transport domains. Co-founded Smart Maritime Network (SMN) in early 2019 - a platform to promote the benefits of enhanced integration and data sharing among stakeholders within the maritime, transport and logistics sectors, informing and educating the industry on technology developments and innovations across the sector, while providing wider opportunities for collaboration, relationship building and knowledge sharing. SMN also hosts the Smart Maritime Council - an industry membership group focused on increasing the compatibility, standardisation and harmonisation of the technology used in the modern shipping industry. Membership is by invitation only and is made up of some of the industry's most forward thinking companies - including connectivity providers, maritime technology developers, vessel owners and operators, engineering OEMs and other key stakeholders, to develop joint approaches that will benefit the entire industry. Cathy's experience of working in a global, diverse industry at multiple levels and within varying genres would provide very relevant expertise for the Volunteer Pool Panel.
