Deepa Lad

As an experienced Compliance Manager, Deepa has been in the compliance function for over 6 years with her key specialism in regulatory compliance for benchmark administrators. Deepa started her career in the legal sector before joining The Baltic Exchange Limited working in a regulated environment in a compliance and market surveillance capacity for its Multilateral Trading Facility. Deepa’s experiences saw her promoted to being the compliance manager and now heading that function which has allowed her to utilise and hone her knowledge and technical ability to embed and enhance a dedicated compliance department. Deepa has successfully achieved an IMC certification awarded by the CFA Institute and also holds a Diploma in Compliance Leadership in addition to her legal credentials. As a representative of the Baltic Exchange Ltd, Deepa is keen to address the surrounding issue of gender fairness and gender bias within the maritime sector.
