Ann started her sea career deep-sea undergoing a Deck Cadetship before moving into ferries and offshore vessels. After 12 years at sea, obtaining her Masters Certificate of Competence and an MSc in Shipping Operations, she came ashore ‘for one year’ as a Master Mariner vessel inspector and advisor for an oil a company in the Middle East. This was followed by her setting up a marine consultancy business in the United Arab Emirates, Trinity Maritime. She also spent 7 years working in various safety-related roles for Bourbon Offshore, latterly as Head of Operational Excellence. 

In 2020, Ann joined Ocean Infinity, based in Southampton, as Chief Vessel Operator where she is responsible for the company’s aims of operating a large fleet of uncrewed vessels (MASS) from their shore-based Remote Control Centres. 

A keen mentor as well as a Chartered Marine Technologist, Ann is passionate about the opportunities in maritime, especially those that emerging maritime technologies can bring to the upcoming generation and the positive impact these opportunities can bring to a well-trained and diverse workforce. Her background in maritime safety also drives her desire to see emerging technology operated safely to enhance the maritime industry.
