The challenges of protecting Intellectual Property (IP) impact all businesses globally, and the maritime industry is no different. In order to learn more about what can go wrong, and how to safeguard your business, DIT Singapore is running an IP webinar at 09:00-10:15 GMT on Thursday 25th February.

The live webinar is aimed at UK maritime companies looking to grow overseas, and will help businesses to understand what you have, the threats faced and your vulnerabilities, the protections you need, and the steps necessary to adapt to local rules and regulations. The webinar will bring the clarity all businesses need. The webinar will have a special focus on Singapore, with local experts discussing the legalities, business impacts and the governmental perspectives. Singapore has retained its position as the world’s second busiest container port and the number one bunkering port in 2020, and such stability and connectivity make Singapore a trusted hub and safe harbour for maritime companies. To this backdrop, the island State is aiming to become the world’s top hub for maritime high-tech start-ups. Such ambition means there are many initiatives and funds available to support maritime R&D and technical developments. In taking advantage, UK companies and start-ups need to be thinking of not only the amazing opportunities on offer, but of how to manage and protect their IP in the process.

This webinar will help companies do just that, with speakers including:

  • Justinian Habner (Deputy Director at DIT Singapore)
  • Toby Stevens (Partner at HFW)
  • Christabel Koh (Regional IP Business & Trade Advisor at IPO UK)
  • Ronny Waage (Managing Partner at Heron Advisory)

There will also be a 15-20 minute Q&A session towards the end of the webinar, and a chance to ask key questions which may affect your business. Register below, we will follow up by sending you an access link to the Zoom Webinar Live Event.
