European Maritime Day 2017
European Maritime Day is an internationally important two-day conference created in 2008 and hosted by a different country each year. Host cities have included Brussels, Rome, Gothenburg, Athens and Bremen.
Poole is proud to have been awarded this prestigious event in 2017. Being the only time this event is likely to take place in the UK, this is a unique opportunity for the UK, Dorset and Poole to exhibit our rich maritime history and relationship with the sea.
This maritime-themed conference taking place at Poole Lighthouse on 18 and 19 May 2017 will attract industry leaders; policy makers including Ministers, EU Commissioners, MPs and MEPs; academics and scientists; and delegates from across Europe.
The conference addresses environmental concerns, sustainability, jobs and growth, technological innovation and other key issues and creates the opportunity for Europe’s maritime community to discuss, debate and advance ideas.
