The overarching theme is: ‘Tomorrow’s Maritime World: UK – the centre of maritime business’, LISW17 will explore five key topics: Tomorrow’s Prosperity, Tomorrow’s Industry Professionals, Tomorrow’s Business Solutions, Tomorrow’s Environment and Tomorrow’s Partnerships.

Tomorrow’s Prosperity

How will a prosperous industry into the future be shaped and sustained?
What conditions will be required and what actions should be taken in order to ensure the shipping industry is able to meet the demands of world trade, technological advancement and global regulation and is able to seize opportunities for growth and prosperity.

Tomorrow’s Industry Professionals

What demands and expectations will shipping place on tomorrow’s industry professionals?
An industry which is multifaceted and which embraces the career ambitions of the young and talented. Where innovation and personal advancement walk hand in hand with industry diversification and collaboration; all key requisites of the need to propel world trade.

Tomorrow’s Business Solutions

Why an efficient and innovative maritime business sector will solve tomorrow’s known and unknown challenges.

Tomorrow’s Environment

In an ever changing political and business environment, how will global market forces, regulatory environments and innovative business practices effect change across the global shipping industry and how will the industry respond and adapt to these new realities?

Tomorrow’s Partnerships

Can current business structures in shipping deliver what is needed for the future, or will we see new models? Will there be new relationships within the overall shipping and logistics world, both vertically and horizontally? What partnerships will we need to build with businesses outside shipping such as technology companies, network providers and infrastructure developers to create the services and businesses of the future?
