The Forum will be a review of progress towards meeting national and international targets to limit climate change. The maritime industry is a key enabler in global economy, but must find ways to reduce carbon emissions without interrupting world trade.

The International Maritime Organisation  requires shipping to reduce greenhouse gases by 50% by 2050. The UK Maritime 2050 Clean Maritime Plan is the national strategy for achieving this. The MLF looked at progress in November 2022 and it is time to consider this again. The event will be framed around 'The Maritime Industry - Navigating the barriers to meeting national and international environmental goals over the next 10 years’.

The Maritime Leaders Forum will review the goals, identifying some of the political, financial, technological and system challenges to attaining them, against the complex international backdrop and discuss what progress has been made so far. Our panel will share their insight with the delegates.

The Maritime Leaders Forum is an opportunity to share best practice with industry leaders, as we work to energise the UK Maritime Sector. We plan for a wide-ranging discussion, where the panel are invited to comment on propositions, best practice and questions from the floor. At the conclusion of the formal session at 1945, we move into a networking reception, finishing at 2100. This has proved a valuable opportunity to continue the discussion and make contacts, to promote collaboration in the industry.

The event will be at Trinity House, doors open at 1730 and the talk and the event will begin at 1815. There is no charge for attending. Please use the complementary tab in the booking form.
