Maritime Masters: Digitalisation and Decarbonisation
The second event in the maritime masters series takes place on 3 March. This session focuses on Digitisation and Decarbonisation: where are the synergies?
The two key drivers of the global maritime industry, digitisation and decarbonisation, present major challenges and growth opportunities.
Substantial investments are needed to meet the challenges and realise the opportunities with the smart money and smart thinking focusing on how to derive synergies of effort.
In the second webinar of the Maritime Masters 2022 programme, three speakers will provide different perspectives on this key question.
- Richard White, CIO, Clarksons Platou, will explain how the company’s sea/ portfolio of digital tools used in commercial shipbroking provide shipowners, charterers, ship finance banks and other stakeholders with valuable decision-making support via the measurement of carbon emissions.
- Simon Willmore, Head of Digital strategy at BMT, will explain how the company’s Vessel Technology Advice and Support (VTAS) enables clients to benefit from modelling the impact of the use in GHG reduction measures via computer simulation.
- Gordon Meadow, CEO & Founder of SeaBotXR, will stress the importance of human-centred digital transformation which will empower people with new skills. These will enable them to work alongside machines performing shared tasks and using shared decision making in the application of new technologies including those vital to decarbonisation.
