National and Regional Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition (CMDC) Update/Networking Events
In Autumn 2022 and Spring 2023, Maritime UK and our network of regional cluster organisations around the UK hosted a number of update and networking events on behalf of the Department for Transport (DfT) to disseminate information around Round 3 of the Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition (CMDC) and the Zero Emission Vessels & Infrastructure Competition / Clean Maritime Research Hub competition respectively. We have now been approached for support in hosting a further round of regional CMDC update and networking events. These will follow on from a national CMDC industry engagement event on the 12th July 2023 in London (and online) being delivered by the DfT, Innovate UK and Innovate UK KTN.
The Government has allocated £206m for a UK Shipping Office for Reducing Emissions (UK SHORE). This is a programme within the DfT focused on accelerating the technology necessary to decarbonise the domestic maritime sector. UK SHORE is delivering a suite of interventions aimed at addressing different barriers to maritime decarbonisation. This includes a flagship multi-year CMDC to help bring pre-commercial technologies to market level. Following on from the successful first three rounds of the Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition (CMDC), the organisers would like to welcome stakeholders from across the maritime sector and supporting industries to attend these important events about the next stage of the programme. The update events detailed below are intended to be open to all organisations within each region and will provide an opportunity to network and learn more. UK SHORE (DfT), Innovate UK and Innovate UK KTN officials will be in attendance.
