Roadshow for Girls
Liverpool John Moores University and Mersey Maritime will be hosting the Maritime UK STEM Roadshow for Girls on Wednesday 16th October (taking place at Liverpool John Moores University, Byrom Street Campus, L3 3 AF). We are looking for companies and organisations to participate in our Careers in Maritime Expo, and for individual Careers in Maritime Ambassadors.
We are looking for Maritime UK ambassadors to participate in the ‘Speed Networking’ session. We are particularly interested in female ambassadors, but male allies are also very welcome.
What will you need to do on the day?Network with KS3 (years 7-9) age pupils during three 50 minute sessions. The pupils will be primed with a set of questions, and also able to ask you anything they want to know about your role in Maritime.

What else is happening on the day?
STEM Activity 1 - Robotics, Programming and Automation - attendees will learn about programming, automation and control of autonomous systems and get to play with the latest robotics technology. This session will include the LEGO coding challenge.
STEM Activity 2 - Simulation - attendees will get to take part in a simulated rescue at sea involving RNLI lifeboats in Liverpool Bay using the 360 degree ship-handling simulator suite.
