Maritime UK, in its role as bringing industry together, has led with partners in regional cluster organisations around the UK, to host a number of update and networking events on behalf of the Department for Transport UK SHORE programme. These events briefed attendees on the latest funding opportunities: the ‘Zero Emission Vessels and Infrastructure’ (ZEVI) competition and plans to established a UK Clean Maritime Research Hub.

UK SHORE aims to transform the UK into a global leader in the design and manufacturing of clean maritime technologies, key to this is addressing barriers across a range of ‘Technology Readiness Levels’ (TRLs).

Supporting access to both the ZEVI and Clean Maritime Research Hub competition builds on our previous work to assist HM Government in promoting opportunities around clean maritime within industry.

Maritime UK facilitated a series of events, held both online and in person and included attendance by officials from UK SHORE, Innovate UK, Innovate UK KTN, and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

The events, hosted by Mersey Maritime, Maritime UK South West, Port of Tyne, Maritime UK Solent, Northern Ireland and the South East saw over 350 people attend, allowing businesses and organisations to maximise their engagement in major funding rounds such as this.

The Zero Emission Vessels and Infrastructure competition is funding multi-year demonstrations across 3 strands:
