News: Parliamentary launch for new study into value of maritime sector
Maritime UK will publish its new report into the value and contribution of the maritime sector at a Parliamentary reception next month.
Produced by the Centre for Economics and Business Research, the report will quantify the value and contribution of the maritime sector to the UK - including GVA, jobs, productivity, average earnings, exports and tax.
Held during London International Shipping Week, MPs and members of the House of Lords will hear about the sector's unique role in enabling UK international trade, and the best of the UK’s maritime offer, including cutting edge technology, high-quality design & manufacturing, unparalleled expertise in maritime services and major investment opportunities.
The study will quantify the individual contribution of each of the maritime sector's industries: shipping, ports, marine and business services.
