News: Port Skills and Safety joins Maritime UK

PSS

Port Skills and Safety has joined Maritime UK, the umbrella body and collective voice for the UK’s £46.1bn maritime sector.

The maritime industries come together through Maritime UK to make progress on key areas of shared interest. Maritime UK’s national priorities are people, competitiveness, regional growth, environment, and innovation.

Port Skills and Safety follows The Workboat Association, which were the latest organisation to join the national umbrella body in February. Maritime UK’s objectives are to champion and work to enable a thriving maritime sector. It does this through a combination of industry coordination and campaigning coupled with its programmes in each priority area.

Port Skills and Safety is the UK's professional ports health, safety and skills membership organisation. PSS exists to make UK ports safer and port workers highly skilled through the sharing of best practice, innovation and guidance. PSS is recognised by Government departments and agencies, including the Department for Transport, Health and Safety Executive and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. Port Skills and Safety are joining Maritime UK as an associate member

Ben Murray, Chief Executive of Maritime UK added:

"We’re excited to welcome Port Skills and Safety to Maritime UK and look forward to working with the team and members to make progress toward our shared people ambitions.
