We’re calling on industry leaders, local communities, schools, and the public to get involved! Whether you're hosting an event, attending a careers fair, or simply want to learn more about how maritime supports 95% of the UK’s global trade, there’s a way for everyone to participate.

Warsash Maritime School - Careers in Maritime Open Day | Saturday 5th October

Our careers in maritime open days give you an insight into what a career in the maritime industry has to offer, and the training programmes to qualify as a ship's navigation (deck), engineer or electro-technical officer in the Merchant Navy and on superyachts.

MaRI-UK Hydrogen Fuel Cell in Marine Shipping Webinar | Monday 7th October

MarRI-UK alongside Clean Marine Shipping (CMS) are excited to present our webinar ‘Powering the Future: Fuel Cells in Marine Shipping’ as part of Maritime UK Week 2024. 

Join Isabela Tatu and Nicholas Abson, co-founders of CMS, to discuss the technology and future applications of fuel cells in marine shipping.

BS 6349 Maritime works: Reliability in a changing climate | Monday 7th October

This 2024 event will update delegates about the progress being made on updating and improving the standard to meet changing requirements. This seminar gives delegates the opportunity to learn about the progress made since the last PIANC BS 6349 seminar in 2022 and to discuss ongoing revisions, planned future work and the implications of Eurocode EN1991-1-8. 

UK Chamber of Shipping’s Conference | Tuesday 8th October

Delegates will have the opportunity to attend panel discussions, keynote presentations, Q&A sessions as well as choose breakout sessions that are of interest to them. Shipping UK offers exhibitors an excellent opportunity to enhance brand recognition showcasing their products and services to more than 300 shipping industry key decision-makers.

As part of Maritime UK Week, we invite you and your students to the Inspiring the Future Maritime Virtual Careers Chat on Wednesday, 9th October from 9:30-10:30 AM. This free session will give students a unique opportunity to explore the diverse career paths within the maritime industry.

Annual National Service for Seafarers | Wednesday 9th October

The Annual National Service for Seafarers was first held in October 1905 and held annually ever since. The purpose of the ANSS is to recognise, celebrate, and express gratitude. Often, our reliance on seafarers is taken for granted or not fully appreciated, and this service serves as a reminder of their importance.

Know Your Client panel debate | Wednesday 9th October

ITIC, in association with the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers’ London & SE branch, is hosting a panel debate on the topic of ‘Know Your Client (KYC)’ during Maritime UK week.
