With government having launched its first long-term strategy for the sector, Maritime 2050, the award categories mirrors its themes. The second Maritime UK Awards are being held in Plymouth, at the heart of a region where maritime contributes £3.8bn to the economy and supports 108,500 jobs. Any surplus generated from the awards will be ploughed back into Maritime UK’s cross-sector initiatives like careers and trade promotion and Diversity in Maritime.
