Maritime Future Leaders Network

This network is designed to foster the development of future leaders in the maritime sector. It is aimed at individuals who are aspiring to build successful careers in maritime with a  desire to expand their professional networks, establish connections, and enhance their confidence. The network provides a platform for maritime professionals to support one another, prepare for leadership roles, and attract a younger and more diverse workforce to the sector.

The network will offer aspiring professionals opportunities to learn, grow, and share their experiences with like-minded individuals from across the sector. It will be implemented throughout the United Kingdom as part of the Coastal Powerhouse Summits and will also host regular online workshops. 

Activities within the network will include:

• Networking Opportunities at relevant MUK events (Coastal Powerhouse Summits)
• Professional Development Workshops
• An Annual Reception
• Mentoring 

Once fully launched, the network will put on a number of events offering opportunities for future leaders and young people who work in the maritime sector. These will include networking sessions for a chance to build confidence, expand networks and establish connections. 

There will also be a number of Professional Development Workshops, which will bring in various leaders in different areas to talk about their professional journey and how to further develop your skills in different areas whether it's: business development, marketing, communications, interviewing, managing people or a specific sector area such as innovation, shipping or technology. 

Once launched the Network will open applications to a Steering Group which will represent the whole of the maritime sector (Shipping, Ports, Professional Services, Engineering, and Leisure Marine)

The network provides a platform for maritime professionals to support one another, prepare for leadership roles, and attract a younger and more diverse workforce to the sector. It will support Maritime UK’s other networks and help attract new people to the sector. 

It will be implemented throughout the United Kingdom as part of the Coastal Powerhouse Summits and during other key maritime events such as LISW, as well as hybrid and online events.
